The two-row wagonlike alternative to a variety of crossovers will features enhanced performance, spacious cabin and improved design of the body.Just like the previous version, the new Venza will be offered in LE, XLE, and Limited grades, with a choice of four-cylinder or V6 engines. Both front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations will also be available.
Exterior and Interior
The 2017 Toyota Venza comes with a revised front featuring a new upper and lower grille, fog lamps, and rear taillights. Standard features include 19-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, eight-way power adjustable drivers seat with power lumbar and a tilt/telescopic adjustable steering wheel. In addition, the Venza offers Toyotas Entune multimedia interface system and navigation as optional on all trim levels.
Inside the cabin, the available upholstery colors are Ivory, Light Gray and Black. Sadly, the interior feels somewhat cheap, especially the textured plastics with fake wood accents. The 6.1-inch touchscreen features tiny virtual control buttons which become a major nuisance while driving.A rearview camera and hill assist also come as standard, plus antilock brakes, traction and stability control, front side airbags, a driver knee airbag and full-length side curtain airbags. We can also expect to see standard safety features, which were missing from the previous versions, such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and forward collision mitigation are sorely missing. The seats are comfortable and provide plenty of head and legroom, especially the back seats which include a reclining option. The cargo area is 36.2 cubic feet when the back seats are up, but it can be extended to 70.2 cubic feet easily thanks to the remote lever installed in the cargo wall which controls the back seats.
The 2017 Toyota Venza in its latest update includes two engine options: first, there is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 181 horsepower and 182 pound-feet of torque. The fuel estimates are quite paltry for the segment at 23 mpg combined (20 city/26 highway). The optional engine is a 3.5-liter V6 that is good for 268 hp and 246 lb-ft. It comes with ta fuel economy of 22 mpg combined (19 city/26 highway). Transmission is a six-speed automatic across the lineup, and front-wheel drive is standard.
